Would a 44x19x16.5 work on a 16.5x9.75 rim? Intercos site says to use a 16.5x12 rim, just wondering if I can get away with the smaller rim. :)

no you need at least a 14, i think a 12 might be stretchin it. I'm working on a truck right now with 39.5's on 14 and it looks right I'll post a picture when Im done tonight.

Sure, why not :toothless: my 42x14s are on 9" wide wheels.Crwlin73 has 49x21s on 10"s.Offroad I dont think it matters much.

How wide are the 39s?

I currently have 38.5x16x16.5s and they are fine width wise on the 9.75

Don't pay attention to anyone but Friz and I. You can run 44's on 9.75's rather easily. I ran my 44's on 8.25" wide hmmwv rims and run my 47's on the same rims. No problems what so ever.

Not that its exactly the same shiat, but I run the 39.5x13.5 IROKs on 10" rims, and they balloon out, but its nice cause I don't have bead locks and they've yet to get knocked off the bead even with barely any air in em. The extra sidewall of the 44's should make up the diff of 3 inches no prob I would think.

9.75's sounds really skinny for an almost 20" wide tire, but hey, if it works then it works, who am i to disagree. I'm just stating what I hear from tire manufacturers and i guess caliboy's law of physics hahaha :D

For off road the narrower rim is better, you can air down more without as much risk of popping a bead. For onroad you might want the wider rims so as to prolong the treadlife of those 70k mile rated highway-tread tires. :flipoff2:

Beat me to it.
The tread area might bulge and the center could wear out faster if you run a very narrow rim on a wide tire and inflate it to recomended pressure, but who is running 44" tires on recomended pressure, plus to get 70k miles on those tires off road it will take more than 10 years :flipoff2:
I ran 16" wide tires on a 7 inch rim, never popped a bead.
