I was buying a riding lawn mower from a gut on the pirate board.. He was up in sac. So rather then drive my burb up there. I used my brothers Jeep Laredo. . I hook up the trailer at take off. I get on Highway 5 about 6 miles north of Santa Nella.. Going about 70 mph with the cruise control on and it just dies. I pull over and try and restart it and nothing. It would crank but no go.. I look at a few things.. But the only tool in his Jeep is a Phillips screw driver.. I call my brother and he is not home nor answering his cell.. So I sit there for a few minutes trying to think of what I could do.. I was getting ready to call Shaggy to see if he could come and get the trailer and I will call a tow truck . Then this Mexican guy in a Jeep Laredo pulls up.. He barely speaks English.. But he crawls under it and asks me to try and start it.. He pulled the fuel line off.. OK fuel pump works. We take a plug wire off and no spark. The guy asks me if I had any tows straps.. Nope.. But I had two really cheap tie downs I was going to use for the mower.. He gets under the jeep and ties it off and says he’ll tow me to the next exit. He takes off and bam the strap breaks. So I get the other one and he doubles it.. We are about 4 feet apart.. I have my hazards on and so does he.. So I figure he is going to go slow and keep it on the side of the highway.. He takes of and gets it up to speed and pulls out into the lanes.. My speedo doesn’t work no power.. No power to brakes or steering.. He catches up to a big rigs.. So my guess is we where going about 60 mph.. We did that for 7 miles and that was the scariest 7 miles I have ever been on.. We get to the Gustine exit and luckily I was able to get us stopped. At that exit there is 2 food mart gas stations and a old gas station with a fence around it and a few tow trucks. We pull into there.. The guy that was there didn’t speak any English.. So the first guy translates for me.. But he barley speaks English.. The guy puts a light on the plug wire and no spark. The first guy says I can pull the coil off of his Jeep to see if that is it. Then the second guy taps me on the shoulder and points at a wrecked Jeep there.. We go over and pull the coil off of it.. And put it on the Jeep.. It starts right up.. I asked the second guy what I owed him.. He said how about $100.00 Ok I pay him the $100.00.. The the first guy says he was takin off.. I said thank you and gave him $40.00 for his time. He hands me back $20.00 and said I gave him to much. And said the next time you help somebody else out.. I have always help other people out.. I can’t tell you how many flat tires I have change for ladies on the side of the road.. And right now everybody is knocking the Mexicans in Calif. But not 1 white person stopped to help me out today.. Karma does work..
