what transmission & t-case?

I have the 39.5s on 3.08 gear'd axles, SM465 (6.5:1) & np205 (1.96:1) and it goes pretty good, putting in a doubler though soon. :)

If you have a TH350 I'd say its gonna be mediocre.

I've got 39.5's with 4.56's. I'll tell you how it works out after I wheel it this weekend.

I think the two main things that will help answer your question are:

1. What tranny do you have? If you're still running stock gear you should have a 700R4. So, I think that should be fine.

2. Do you intend on driving it on the street much? If yes, I would think you'd still be fine but I'd be leary about using OD that much with a tire that big and be prepared to wear down the 42's. If no and it's offroad only or mostly....4.56's should be fine. I think the next gearset available is 5.13's...imho I don't think it's worth the money to upgrade to them from 4.56's.

i got the 700r4 and 241 t/c i am running the 36 irocks now with 3:73 gears and it's pushing them fine mostley offroad use now usually tow to any place over two hours from here. just don't want to be using up all the engine just to move the tires. what some horses left for when i will need them. low gear is like 2:71 on the t/c so maybe it will be alright?
