I picked up one of the Parker plasma cutters from Divtec on Pirate. Got the single voltage 40amp plasma/tig/stick combo, added a footpedal and the turbo upgrade to bump output to 50amps. He said it will cut 3/4" clean, I'm looking forward to chopping large sections of the new Blazer off!

Now I just need to learn how to TIG weld. Figured I'd get the combo unit since he had a scratch n dent one for $100 more than the plasma cutter only machine.

Next up is the tubing bender... :pimp2:

Yeah, that is the plan. Another long term build though, due to lack of time. I want something alot lighter and alot safer that I'm comfortable taking the boy in. Would be simpler just to wheel it now, but it's hard to get time to wheel now anyways, so I'll just build now, that's almost as much fun.

I actually always had more fun building than wheeling.
I am not a fan of conquering a rock, but I like getting to remote places to camp and hike.
Building things is my hobby.
I have a Plazma already, it's a 38 amp, and I have a mig 120amp.
I am thinking about getting the combo MIG TIG Stick from the same company I got my other pieces from, they don't offer the plazma with the combo yet but I will suggest it.
I can't afford anything yet so maybe by the time they do I will have the money.

$850 at my door, it was $500, plus 157 for the pedal, $50 for spare consumables and $50 for the turbo upgrade, plus shipping. More than I wanted to spend but still less then I thought I would have to spend for just a plasma cutter. The same machine but not a scratch n dent on the site, without the addons, is $1299 on their website.

Yeah I think I need to just start emailing vendors to see what they might be willing to get rid of before I buy stuff. When I bought my doubler I saved some money cuz I bought one that was returned.

I recently got a machine with the same spec's, though not a Parker. 50a plas, 150a DC Tig/Stick. The plasma is excellent, Im really happy with the power, now I just need a bigger compressor. I think you will be pleased.

I still need to get some rod and tungsten and give the Tig a try, so no input on that.

How big is your compressor? I have a 5.5hp 25 gallon one that I hope will be enough for now...

Should be plenty, mines a tiny 2hp 5 gallon. I have to stop every 8 inches or so with 1/4" for 30 seconds or so for the compressor to catch up.
