Hey anyone know about presurewashers?
I have a Craftsman 6.75horse 2500psi Briggs & Stratin engine.
When I start it up (cold) it starts to run but white&black smoke starts to blow out like crazy...then the engine dies and will not restart until the next day or several hours later...runs all smoky then dies.
The last time it was working I was spraying of the concrete around the pool then out of nowere it started running weird smoke started pouring out and then it died...so it was running when it died...???
Anyideas were I should start. My warenty is exprired so I plan on tearing into it to see if I can fixer up :2thumbs:

Carb would be my guess. Aside from oil burning. Those B&S motors will run for ever.

Is that a two or four stroke motor? If two stroke, did you remember to use two stroke oil in the fuel?

I'm guessing that B&S is a 4 stroke, bad gas possibly? Or running two stroke gas in it by accident? They are pretty damn simple motors, try blasting some carb cleaner through it while it is running.

Thanks guys...ya it's a 4stroker
I will pull the covers off and get some freash fuel in there and mess with it a bit...can't be all that hard to work on....if I remember right I did smell fuel after it died and wouldn't start up again until the next day so may have a fuel issue...
Thanks again for the comments

Bang on the carb with a screw driver handle, the jets are prolly gummed up

Yep had the same one at work, bang on the carb. If that doesn't work then you'll probley need to take it apart and clean the injectors. What happens over time is the carb gums up and won't fire the right amount of fuel. If you get it running then you can throw some mystery oil down in the gas and that should help your problems
