Is this run open to all or just club members?
Twisted Whipz
11-30-2005, 01:39 PM
should be open to all who show up. it's a good way for a newb to start working into the club. i think it's basically manditory now that you make at least 2 runs before consideration into the club. of course others will know more and chime in on the subject.

I'm gonna try real hard to make it, not sure how yet. Transfer cases in pieces on my garage floor right now, still trying to hunt down a Np205 32 spline short input, among other things.

Are you going to do a write up on your doubler install? Cuz that would be super. :2thumbs:
CaptainInsano
11-30-2005, 05:48 PM
ehhh I could, haven't taken any pics, although I thought about it.
It probably would be the first WMS writeup. I ran into some goofy issues too. My aluminum bearing dome in the Np203 was unlike any I've seen, has(had) a hump on it that had to be cut off so it would fit.

I’m up in the air right now.
Depends on what my trailer situation is and if I can get the new PS system and u jointed steering shaft installed, fix my passenger side front shock mount (again!!) and get a new tierod built and installed.
Not going to have really any time to work on the rig between now and then with the holidays and what not being here.

Howdy polesmokers……Just got back from Arizona last night…..drove 14 hours straight (910 miles). Good to be home.
I’m still trying to make it out this weekend for at least part of Saturday. I might possibly come down after work tomorrow and camp out Friday night but I’m not sure. Either way I’ll be coming without my rig. Everything depends on how I’m feeling (starting to come down with a cold) and if I feel like working on my rig this weekend or watching you tools break yours.

jerry doesn't need a winch, cause easy hasn't been written in his dictionary. so the ride should be like riding a bucking bronco. you may need a doctors note if you have any severe medical issues. the good thing is if you have to speew there's no windshield. so forwards an option.

I don’t feel like driving down there after being stuck in my truck for 14 hours on Wednesday (not too mention I don’t feel like spending the gas money), plus I’ve got to get a lot of stuff done to my rig in order to be ready for the February trip up to Mix canyon. Ok so heres the break down of what went down....
Friday
Jerrys off the trailer for about 10 mins and breaks a birf on the front axle.
I was on lower jungle when I some dirt caved in my windshield then my tcase came apart from the clocking ring. 1-2 hours later we are back at camp.
Saturday
Jerry heads off to pick n pull in sanjose to get a new axle shaft.
Myself and Matt(burbanfreak) headed into town to get some longer bolts and more tranny fuild.
We get both our rigs fixed and we go play around for a bit. Thanks to the help to everyone that helped.
That evening Kevin broke a short side stub shaft and blew out the hub. hooked him up with my spares and all was good.
Sunday
I think we left at about 10ish for tank. Got back at 2.
I almosted rolled it 200 yards into tank. At the same time it caught on fire.
Parked it and walked.
The rest of the way Kevin, Ryan, and Jerry were winching thier way out.
All my pics can be found here...

IMO it was a lot more challanging then it was last time we ran it. Mud pits didnt seem to bad, well other then that last one that Kevin got stuck in. Seemed more soupy then anything. But Ryan made it through it....
Friday it was pretty dead. Saturday and sunday were not too bad. I think we were the only ones to do tank and towards the end got a good crowd down there.

thats one reason for not having a windshield.....hm should I put another one in.
Its was slipping like a mofo on the way there. Thats why we added some. Guess it didnt help. :( Its still leaking sitting in my garage. I need to figure out where it is coming from. Nate thinks I might of cracked the tranny. Which might be a possiblity.

Jason did you have that bumper a year or so ago when we met in Pismo? I don't remember it going into your engine compartment.

umm part of it. The stinger part was a recent addition. The whole bumper may be coming off for a redesign.

i have the video of jay breaking his window friday night. will try to work on it after work tonight and then figure out how to post it here. Of course it won't be as good as Bonzai's video's of course but you will at least get the choice audio while it happened. Breaking the window out was a upgrade not a break!

Pre fire - coolest way to fill a tranny :2thumbs:
Half an afternoon and one morning definitely did not result in enough wheeling on my part, I really need to show up earlier
It was cool watching you guys beat the hell out of the canyon section on Tank, even when it was wet.

Long time. The truck's ok, it's on a diet in Bakersfield right now. Took the body lift off. Hope to inherit a D60 sometime this year.
How's your Burban coming along? Have you heard anything from Jason, the one from your area with the white GMC and the '69?
