My work is currently seeking a qualified IT manager for our office in Davis. Pay is 100-125k per year depending on experience. If anyone is interested please send me an email and I will forward you the job description.
A little about us, we are an Earthquake Consortium funded by NSF. It is slated for 10 years with renewal after 5, we just completed our first year this year. Unfortunately we lost our IT Manager due to health problems.

Desirable Qualifications and Characteristics:
1. One or more degrees in a field of engineering, plus significant experience in an engineering field closely related to design and/or operation of civil infrastructure.
2. Strong vision for, and personal commitment to, advancement of earthquake engineering and seismic risk mitigation practices through experimental, analytical, and numerical research.
3. Background and experience managing IT professionals responsible for development, deployment, and operation of software products.
4. Background and experience managing IT professionals responsible for creating and maintaining databases and/or data archives with web-based interfaces.
5. Demonstrated skill, both technical and consensus-building, for synthesizing and translating IT user needs into actionable plans for IT product specifications.
6. Ability to understand and address engineering practitioner and stakeholder needs and ability to identify and exploit opportunities for implementation of research.
7. Experience with general management practices including supervision of technical staff and management of budgets, contracts, scheduling, and outsourced services.
8. Familiarity with goals and reporting needs of the National Science Foundation and other potential funding agencies.
9. Broad involvement and recognition within an engineering profession including engagement in professional organizations, development of technical publications and presentations, and participation in committee activities.
10. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, oral presentation, and written communications skills.
11. Capable of working within a results-oriented, client-driven service organization.
12. Comfortable within a team-oriented, hands-on, dynamic, flexible work environment with frequently varied job responsibilities requiring a high degree of initiative and self-sufficiency.
13. Familiarity with continuous improvement processes including meaningful development and application of user survey information.
14. Appreciation for the diverse interests of the community, and the community-based processes that have been established to serve those interests.
15. Willingness to travel (estimated at 40 days annually) both domestically and internationally.
