Hey All,
Can anyone recommend a shop that will do this for reasonable $$???

Discount Tire quoted me $216 for swapping 35s to 37s... (5 wheels/tires).

Is that normal? Yikes.

Thanks

Yeah it aint going to be cheap. No one likes dealing with anything over a 33. Maybe check a 4wd shop?

I just paid 30 bucks at PAcific Tire in Milpitas for 4 tires. Took off old 33s and mounted 36" TSLs. No balancing though. I just ran the Yota to hollister with non balanced old ass TSLs and it rode fine.

call ahead and make an appointment. they'll quote you $12 each to do the swap w/ out balancing. then they'll take the hit when you drive up and they're bigger than they expected. works all the time for me. gone to big-o and sears and some mexican jobby was even less. the discount tire place didn't even use a machine. just this little guy with a big attitude and flat bar. good thing the rims were steel. cost only $40 cash cause that's all i had on me.

Bruce's tire in San Jose will work with big tires, they dismounted my 38s for me no problem with no one else would touch them.

Thanks all. Things are on hold - can not get 5.13s (thick) for the 14ff. Apparently all the good brands are backordered until January.

I do not think pushing 37s with my current 4.10 gears would be good for the tranny. And I will be putting lots of miles on in between now and Jan.....

:( :(

I run 37 ssrs with 4:10 everyday for 4 years now, wouldnt want it any lower, 3000 grand at about 68 mile per hour, I commute 40 sum miles one way, I do however have a well built th 400 and a remote rear mounted trans cooler, on the freeway trans temps are well under 180' and Im getting nearly 15mpg with the tuneport 5.7!!!

Yeah, I could probably get away with it. My tired old engine (230k miles) struggles with 4.10s/35s in OD. I just dont want to fry my tranny (yet :D ).

If I do not do this particular deal I may go back to a plan that included 15" beadlocks - can you mount and balance these also? They would be the steel units from Allied.
