Hammers would be cool to see for the first time....but I would have to tag along as seat meat with someone if I do go, my little trucky not ready.

Yeah I just heard about it from a buddy in my club. Third item down on the main page: http://www.cal4wheel.com/

Is there still a run planned? If so I guess I better get on finding a ride. Got any room in that thing Friz? :D

So as of last night (as long as it works for you Deb) is that Ken and I are gonna leave Clovis at around noon Friday head into Coyote to maybe beat some of the crowd and get some spots. We will get up Sat. morn and run out to the trail head to pick up kids and gear and run everyone back into the lake :2thumbs:

freds40
08-28-2007, 01:39 PM
Are you guys thinking about a day run for Saturday or an overnighter (Sat/Sun)? I have a buddy I think I can talk into going up mid day Friday so I can get in there.

Also if you guys need help with anything, let me know. I have my truck and trailer that's available if a rig needs a ride or if you need help getting people to the trail head.

FRIZZLEFRY
08-28-2007, 03:11 PM
Cool,I hope ya can make it up.Gonna camp fri sat and sun night and head out mon morning I think. Not sure about the coming home time.

Thanks for the offer of the truck and trailer.I think Ken and I will have a pretty good idea how much stuff will need to be hauled by thursday afternoon. We dont have the pile o gear put together yet to look at yet,but I think its gonna be alot of stuff. And I think we have the people getting hauled up to the trailhead covered.

we will be heading up with the family early early saturday morning. All we have a are two jeeps, i can sit three peeps plus (brett can only take one passenger) me if someone hauls stuff or i can haul stuff and tie kids to the roof :-) jes can sit on the front bumper... lol

happy to run back and forth to transport if need be
anyone wanna loan out an air matress?? (i hate rocks in my butt)

theres a campsite right by the water when you pull in, kinda infront of the loo... noel really liked that spot... said it was the best, maybe we can stay in there...

FRIZZLEFRY
08-28-2007, 03:47 PM
We need a for sure head/seat count and I think between everyone we can haul all the gear.

There is another sweet spot all the way down at the end of the lake we have camped at too.We will just have to see how many people are there fri afternoon.

FRIZZLEFRY
08-28-2007, 03:58 PM
Oh yea :toothless:,

I can haul myself + 3.

Dozer/73Tweaker
08-28-2007, 06:26 PM
I think that we have 14 that have to be run in. :uh oh:
Not including drivers.
So looks like two trips.

Hopefully there won't be too many people.
One of the teachers from Century are coming up
Sunday.
Hopefully we are playing to stay til Monday.

Thanks everyone for helping the kids and I make this
trip come true.

I tried calling Ken last night to go through some other options but he didnt answer. If we cant get everyone and everything in in one shot to Coyote,we may have do do a base camp thing at the trail head and wheel in from it.

Two trips into Coyote would make for a 12-16 hour day or more depending on traffic and vehicle issues that pop up.

Ken and I need to build y'all a bus :p

FRIZZLEFRY
08-29-2007, 12:53 PM
Hey,

We could convert your van to 4wd!

Come awn :pimp2: We got all the suff to do it :pimp2:

And a roof rack the size of the roof! We wouldnt need any other vehicles,we could all ride with you Deb

That would be sweet :pimp2:

freds40
08-29-2007, 04:42 PM
A year or so back, Noel told me he was thinking about getting rid of the van and picking up a Sportsmobile, he seemed pretty impressed with their set-up. A buddy in my club is one of the designers on the 4wd systems there so we could see if they'll set one up to handle some 49s. :D

Dozer/73Tweaker
08-29-2007, 07:37 PM
Now I know that Noel left one hell of an impression on you guys.
Damn 49's. Just what he would want.
Looked at the conversion lots. Just not the right time. Seemed
like there was never enough time or the right time this year.
One of these days I am up for it.

Also there was an offer from Freds40 about trailering.
I actually have the truck, trailer, and wheeler, technically
the only driver I have to bring in Bear has never driving
truck/trailer set up. So are you available Fri-Mon?????

Let me know or contact Ken.
Deb

freds40
08-29-2007, 08:10 PM
So Bear is the one that needs a ride?

Let me get back to you as my buddies tow rig might be down so I might end up trailering his rig up the hill. I should know tonight.

(edit: I just re-read it and I think the heat was getting to me @ work. If you need a driver let me know. Like I said I plan to head home on Sunday though so I don't know if that will work for ya)

freds40
08-29-2007, 08:12 PM
Almost forgot, I am planning on heading up Friday mid day and probably leave Coyote mid day Sunday. I have 2 little girls that I plan on spending Monday with so I don't know if that schedule would work for ya.

08-29-2007, 10:10 PM

There is always room for you. We will be leaving as we said in two stages due to our size of the group. If you want to come tomorrow just be here in the morning. I think you have Ken's number, if not I will pm you mine and his.

We are still looking at not coming back until Monday though. Unless that has changed and I just don't know it yet.

I would like to Thank everyone that helped the children and
I get into Red Lake and Coyote.
It is not easy to get this many people around, as those
of you that were there know.

We hope to make more trips in the future. Maybe a Hollister run
soon. Then Swamp and Hammers. One day I hope to take everyone
up to Moab. Which is what Noel and I were going to do next with
everyone.

It was very hard to be up in the
mountains where Noel was last wheeling. But, when it was time
to leave the last thing we wanted to do was go home.

I think everyone had a great time getting to know each other
and telling stories about wheeling and getting to know Noel.
He was a great friend, husband and father. The greatest mechanic
and visionary I have ever known. I just cannot imagine life without
him, but, I guess God had better plans for him.

Thanks again to Ken (crawln73) and Family, Chris and Kris (Frizzle Fry),
Barney (and Katey and Johnny), Brenden (freds40--even his dodge), Mike (4 whl prts mgr-Fresno), Nate and Aaron. And also to my children for hanging in there and trying so very hard to maintain a happy go lucky spirit, no matter how much it hurt. A very special Thank You to my son Steven for making it possible for DOZER to make it in and wheel. You have a talent much like Noel, and a foot too. :uh oh:

There is never enough time to do everything in life. Whatever you do, don't put off for tomorrow what you can do today. Tomorrow may never come. That we unfortunately know.

Love to all of you,
Debbie

I thought I heard.....What happens in the mountains...stays in the mountains. No way I would have mentioned all the "fun" things
that happened to the rigs before I got there. You leave the job
to men and they have all kinds of things happen. Let's see out
of 10 rigs there was
a rig that got stuck, electrical fires, didn't know about the other,
steering box went bad, steering wheel/column almost fell off. Once the women got there that all seemed to clear up. Strange isn't it. lol :p

We did make it out in record time though. All you have to do for this
group is mention flushing toilets :pain: and their beds and you can
get them to do anything.

Had a great time though. Heard you got all giggly Sunday
night. The tequila must have been really good. :pimp1:

Thanks again. And you guys are always welcome, you are
family. Need to make another trip soon.

Just playin.Everything is better with the wimminz :pimp2:

I heard all about you giggling like a girl.
You not remembering just proves how right the
kids were. You were apparently great entertainment.
Sorry I missed it. :drunk:

Come on now we all know that men and jeeps just
don't work well together. I think the heep was it's own
issue, the women had nothing to do with that.

You better say it got better when the women showed
up, or your wifey will get you.

Thanks again for all of your help.
Love from the Chadbourne/Dozer Family

I had a great time. It was nice to see some people I haven't seen in a while and to meet some new ones. The weather was awesome and the wheeling was great. (short of getting wedged between 2 trees) I had a blast driving Rock Ape.I haven't had to pick lines that well in a long time.(I've been showing off my guns to the wife after that ride :D ) I wish I had a few pics but my camera croaked on me before the trip.

I wish I could make it to the Hammers run but I don't think my rig will be back up and running by then. I'm still waiting for the money tree to grow in the back yard so I can get a few more parts.

Thanks again Deb and kids for letting me join you. :2thumbs:

Great time was had by all. Really looking forward to the next trip out. It was awesome to be able to be a part of a trip with so many good people. I really enjoyed being able to see the future of this crew driving down the trails that I learned to wheel on. Had alot of fun unstacking the trail, putting it back to the way it should be.(even though a few jeep guys whined) Hopefully Thanksgiving at the Hammers is even more fun with more good people. Like Debbie said "Dont put off tommorrow what you can do today, because tommorrow may never come."
Thanks to all and God Bless.
