I hope you 2 are ok...
They just had a head on in the big truck (ken called me) with a honda..
And from what ken said the front axle passenger side is almost hitting the tranny pan..
Like I told Ken...Get that stuff swapped before it gets totaled.. :2thumbs:

Just got off the phone with J. K30 was towed to his house. He's a bit sore, and Alisha is in ER (back problems) She can move her feet, but in alot of pain. The other driver was eating rice/curry,and not wearing her seat belt. She got rushed off to some other hospital. K30 is pretty much toast from what I hear. I will see it tomorrow after work. Glad everyone survived. :D

Thanks everyone, we just got back home from the hospital, Alisha doing okay except the er kept od-ing her on morfine and demeral which kept making her sick, but she's in alot of pain but seems to be just really sore. All the cat scans and x-rays were good and all the blood work came out great. So other than being sore were good
Now for the good part, like it was said before. When it rains all the dumb ass drivers come out. This %#$@ lady was comming around the bend when I saw her. Her front tires were cocked all the way to the left as she was plowing through the corner. I made a comment to alisha "Oh great" right about then she somehow corrected the car and made the corner. Which in turn shot her right into my lane, she instantly overcorrected and vered right back into her lane. Once again she over corrected and this time I was up on the curb trying to avoid her but I was in sort of a canyon which I couldn't go up on the bank. Plus there was a light pole in front of the truck, so not wanting to hit the pole and have it come down on my truck I turned back toward her, when she crossed the double yellow line and slammed into us. All of this happend in about 20 seconds so there was no way to stop. They estimate the combined collision speed was about 75 mph
So I get out and asses the damage, Talk to the wife who's in alot of pain and tell her not to move. I go and make sure there is know fire or gas. Then I go check on the women. She didn't have her seat belt on and there was rice all over her car(which she was eating as she was driving). Her head went through the window and parts of her scull and hair is embedead in the window. I run back to the truck and grab an towel to put on her busted face. When I get back I look at her, shes got about a quarter size whole in her scull. Yes her scull. I grabbed a guy who pulled up and had him put the towel on her head and apply direct pressure. I was alittle piss off at her and didn't want to stay. The lady was the life flight or something to eden trama center, they couldn't leave the scene for 30 min because they couldn't get her stabalized.
Don't really know what happened to her from there.
Now to the important stuff, the 60 look okay the housing didn't look bent, the most I might have to do is replace the driver side knuckle. Yep that one strong axle. I should have picks up soon I keep you posted

When I talked to you yesterday you said you had full coverage, that does include uninsured motorist doesnt it? So I mean you should still be covered?
gr8pumkin
12-19-2005, 05:05 PM
Yep I'm covered but since its my insurance, it means I'm going to have to fight for every penny. Exspecailly if the I only get blue book value, which is two thousand dollars.
Guess time will tell what happens.

Glad you guys are ok for the most part. Hope your wife gets better soon. That really sucks that someone elses stupidity injured your wife. Sorry to hear about your rig too but its a good thing you were driving it and not some little ricer car yourself.
As for the uninsured rice eating moron, hope she survives so you can take her to the cleaners. I love this place. :|

On that note now that I think about it, John and I know several guys who recently graduated from Santa Clara law school who might be able to help you on the cheap when it comes to that.

Damn bro….sorry to hear all of this. Glad you and your wife managed to escape with only the injuries you did…consider yourself lucky. Make sure your wife takes it slow and follows all of the doctor’s orders for recovery. My sister was rear ended in a car accident about 8 years ago and has never fully recovered. She can’t work, she’s in constant pain and the accident has changed her life for the worst. Make sure that doesn’t happen to your wife. If I can help with anything at all….let me know man. Keep your chin up and motor through this.
Don’t even get me started on the other half of this equation….your rice eating Honda driving nascar wannabe. While I wish no ill will on somebody…one has to wonder if fate or predetermination had any role in this. Good god man….I hate this fricking state……because of her poor driving and lack of insurance you and your wife are the ones most likely to get penalized after it’s all said and done. That is so fucked up….
Hmmm…now about those tougher immigration laws. Who wants ‘em??? The line forms over here.

Make sure you get replacement value for your truck, start pulling up comparibles online on auto trader and cars.com etc. It may take a while but as long as you hold out you will get it. Shawn's gramp had to do the same thing because he had an 84 van... but it was a custom one and only a limited number were made etc. He held out and was able to buy a newer van plus cash in his pocket...
Glad you guys are okay.

Thanks for the info about pulling trucks of equal value, I'm going to start on that. Now for the good stuff, it looks like the lady still had a payments on her newish car, and because it was a loan the lein holder is liabale to insure she has insurance. So it looks like we might be able to go after them for neglagence. We really won't know anything more yet but the good thing is the wife has gap coverage on her pay if she is injured and not able to work. So for now money won't be an issue.

that really sucks!
glad you both are ok.
Man Non-insured drivers, there should be a law!< wait there is! and it sounds like its on your side.
so Keep track of all the expences, when your At the Doctors & all your losses> tow, storage, repair quotes, lost wages.
seems like you will need to get a judgement, to Lean on her for all your damages.
try to get a lean put on her car, make it very difficult to get it back,
without paying for yours first.
when an insurance company totals a rig {If they do, the owner is first in line to buy it back.

^sounds like the best place to start, the loan company should be on title.
Hope your wife is feeling better.

Wow, just found this. Hope all is well - don't let the Insurance/Medical case lapse for a few years. Alisha may have issues for quite awhile and it really is up the the other parties insurance to cover re-hab and therapy as long as she needs it.
