Yep, Bought a dana 60, and a new/rebuilt turbo 400/205 and a dana 70 rear end, all for 1200 bucks
Ohh yea,,,,,, The guy threw in a 84 v 3500 crew cab dually with a brand new 6.2 turbo diesel with a banks sidewinder kit!!! :D :D
Actually the truck is whole, need a little wiring work but is very complete, Im going to sell my current tow rig to get "out" of the payment and build this one up slowly. (If your looking for a bitchin tow rig pm me). I have big plans for this rig, and yankin that diesel and sellin it is first first on my list!!!!
Now you dont get a smokin deal like this without some down sides :uh oh: The truck was infested with spiders! I mean thousands of them!! Had to spend 35$ on spider juice and pretty much douched the whole thing twice now ,, and Ryan B had them crawling on him while we were battling them with our arsanel of spider killer!!!! :flagraise: When the last shot was fired and the fog finally cleared all that was left was piles of dying spiders of every shape color and size!!! It pretty much gave me the heebie jeebies, but I bought a air sprayer with a suction/siphon tube on it and used that to blast a gallon of spider juice in every nook, underneath,I mean every thing in and out!!! And this was at 120 psi so good luck spiders!!!

What I meant was are you going to swap a 12v cummins into it? Would be fairly simple mechanically and the legal part would be easy cause its already a diesel. THen youd have a pretty bad ass tow rig. :pimp1:

On a side note....I wish I could afford your current tow rig. I love that thing.

Nice score...congrats Kevin. I don't know how you find these deals...but damn dude...keep 'em coming.
What kind of tow rig are you getting rid of? How much?
BTW....correct me if I'm wrong but since this WAS a diesel rig you can pretty much put whatever you want in it, right?

Really all depends on exactally what you want, There is alot, I mean alot of things to change up, Not exactly a picnic
Theres close to a 100+ hours of research and install in Ryans truck alone!!
Anyone interested in purchasing a ls1 family engine for there rigs or project cars, PM Ryan or myself. This way we can figure out what you need :2thumbs:

2003 with 26K miles... that thing is hardly broken in! :p

The research made it seem like it was gonna be easy, but actually swapping the 8.1 in required some hours of massaging everything to get it to drop into place. :thumb:

Now if we could just figure out the wiring.

Have you thought about working the 03+ dash into the truck? It would make the gauges and all that stuff alot easier to figure out... I've seen it done on a 91 c/k style truck, looked good and fit like a glove, not so sure on that style though :D

K case 400/205 32 spline :2thumbs:
So your keeping the one that came with it? Why not go with the 4180e and get to overdrive?
Ryan B.
01-15-2006, 04:42 PM
We were talking about that... but we'd have to figure out how to make a VSS work on the th400-np205 for the electric speedo.. other than that it would be do able.
