Good news is.. It's not going to be to Hot.. It's supposed to be in the 80's.. It will be getting a little cold at night. So bring some fire wood. I didn't get to go in the group 5 area on Friday.. But I went by it.. I did notice the pond on the north end was full.. So please bring your mosquito repellent. Also the gate code is supposed to be 3006. Both gates are supposed to be that number.. I will not be there until Friday morning.. There wasn't enough interest in going in on Thursday. Also, If everybody could bring a little something to donate to the raffle.. That would help out. anything would be great. Lets all have some fun... :2thumbs:

I think my PSC pump just started on a quick decent to death. It's all the sudden VERY noisy and it leaks fluid when it didn't before.

Sigh.

Well at least I have 2 pumps, who says I need both working?

Maybe I'll bring my stock p-pump I still have and bring it if I get adventurous enough to swap cans over the weekend.

dude...you're not giving me much faith in their products right now. I hope mine doesn't start to die too. I'm already not very happy with them as BOTH (the original one and it's replacement) fancy blingy resevoirs I ordered from them leaked from the top friction fit seal (with an o ring). When I told the guy what was going on he accused me of overfilling it and not knowing what I was doing  . Luckily I know someone who has a tig welder  and we simply welded up the top seam that was leaking. I still have to swap out the resevoirs (hopefully I'll have time before BF)...needless to say hearing this from you makes me very nervous. You'd think for the money they charge for their stuff it'd be quality.

bggrnchvy
07-15-2008, 10:38 PM
Well found the problem.

The weld on their new can they put on that holds the #10 JIC fitting is cracked. It's sucking air in through the hole and weeping fluid out at rest.

Thanks for clarifying that you tool!!!! :flipoff2:

It was a long night and an early morning but I’m all loaded up and I’m here in Richmond with the tow rig and K5 on the trailer sitting out in our yard. Hoping to skip out on work around 4 or so and get on the road down to HH. I’ve got to stop at the safeway in Hollister then I’ll be at camp.

Also…went over to Bare’s house and picked up a bunch of fire wood for us. :2thumbs:

Hope somebody (Kyle??) brought a CO2 tank….otherwise we’ll all be staring at a keg of beer with no way to drink it. :(

I've got a CO2 bottle ready, I won't be in until about 10:30 tonight though :(

I've got a lame class I can't get out of. She said she would fail me if I didn't show up being there are only 6 total meetings. Make sure to bring whatever fitting and regulator you use on your bottle Nate.

I’ve got the regulator and fitting all I need is a tank. 10:30 is fine tonight…I’ve (and I’m sure everyone else too) got plenty of other beer and booze to drink till the CO2 gets there.

Jason…your tank would be cool too. I’m in the same boat as you also…without my CO2 tank with me this trip I have no way to fill up my tires. So, I’ll need some air too. Actually….forgot the dodge has a compressor and tank for the exhaust brake. It can fill up tires but it’s REALLY slow as the compressor is pretty small. But…in a pinch…..

you build a "homebrew" C02 tank and a regulator and a mount for the tank for about $120 or less. Just another option to think about.

4X4HIGH
07-21-2008, 11:47 PM
You can also hit the wrecking yard for a $20.00 York compressor and make your own brackets. Then all you need is a tank and a one way valve. Alot less than $120.00. You could do a York OBA for about 60.00 with used parts.

That was alot cheaper than I thought. I might have to find one.

Nate how big of a tank would I need to refill 4 35s and what would I make a tank out of?

4x4mike
07-22-2008, 04:43 PM
You don't need a big tank really. The York can be run alone with resonable rpms. I ran a long 9 gallon tank, was an air brake tank off a semi, it I could spin tools and fill tires quickly. The York would actually catch up and cycle off while airing up. I think I have pictures of mine here and on Pirate.

Mike, the system I’m talking about is a CO2 tank with regulator. You tank the tank to a welding supply store and have it filled. A 10lb tank like what I normally use has enough to fill up my 40” tires probably about 40 or 50 times. CO2 unlike compressed air can fit a LOT more volume in the same size tank. The only draw back about CO2 is that you have to go have it filled when it runs out. In my opinion it’s definitely the way to go for OBA.

bggrnchvy
07-22-2008, 09:39 PM
All I have to add is just stay engine driven or CO2. Don't bother with an electric compressor. An Oasis will give you the CFM of engine driven but it's not going to give you bang for buck. All the other electric compressor's give you low CFM and it's annoying how long it takes to fill tires.

I ditched a ViAir 550c and just went to a 20lb CO2 bottle, I love it and it's cheaper.

The local soft drink fountain place fills my 20lb tank for ~$15 and at the current rate I refill once a year when I get down to about 3lbs of CO2 left.

gr8pumkin
07-22-2008, 09:45 PM
So where can you pick these 20 lb tanks up at? And do you have to buy the regulator seperate or do they come with it?

20lb aluminum tank, this one would need to be inspected and restamped, but it gives you an idea. Steel is fine too, aluminum is just lighter.

Mike, if you want an air tank i have a portable air tank here you can have. There is no valve or anything on it anymore but you wouldn't need that anyway. I think it's a 10 gallon tank.
