Went up HWY88 to Iron Mountain (about 15 miles this side of Kirkwood) Thursday. It's the first time Shay and I have been out sledding with these sleds. They are both Arctic Cat Eltigre 6000's.

thats cool. we want to go up there and play, but quads aren't allowed. have to say though. a quad w/ paddles does quite well up in the snow.

They are a blast and not too expensive either, couple grand for used ones. New ones range from 7K to 12K depending on. I got mine at Smalley's (http://www.smalleysales.com/index.htm) up in Pine Grove. It's another 45 minutes or so up to Iron Mountain from there.

My dad used to run the SkiDoo/Polaris /SnowCat shop in Tahoe long ago...Anytime PowerSports. We used to have a sled that would do 130. :P Skidoo MachZ. Practicallity of those sleds, not much, take them in powder and watch em sink, spend next hour digging it out. Fun shit though, snowmobiling is about the most fun sport I've ever done, maybe even more so than wheelin IMO. We'll probably get some for sure in the near future. Get a touring sled and a sport sled.

Get a EFI if you can afford it, save many headaches.

I have ridden one of these, this one looks gay ass hell paint wise....

90mph+ on a flat straight. Accelerates like you wouldn't believe, hard to hold on too. Skis off the ground when hammering it.
