dana 44 vrs 10 bolt

will a dana 44 axle work on a 10 bolt ? from gm ?

If you mean the shafts.. No they won't..

the outters will tho, not the inners. There are also 2 different size d44 shafts. They use different ujoints.

If I remember correctly. all d44's are 30 spline and most of the 10 bolts where 28 thou 90 to 91 where 30 spline.. But the lengths where slighlty diffrent..

IIRC...The 10 bolt and d44 outters are the same. You just have to make sure you are not trying to use the small ujoint d44 outter on a 10 bolt inner cuz the joint would be different.

IMO youll blow ujoints which will most likly take out the ears on both the inner and outter. So try to find a complete set so that you can just swap the axle in and be on your way.

I go to the junk yard and grab the whole assembled shiat for both sides and carry those with me. Haven't blown one apart yet though. Wish I could say the same for my mangled 12 bolt yoke.
