This is actully the second version on this truck. It started out as a 1970 long bed. I Installed a Dana 60 In front and 14bolt out back ,both are locked, Hydro-assit Crossover steering, Rebuilt 350 Bored .030 over, it got 38in TSL's and a roll cage. After about a year of wheelin it i decided i wanted a change. I Bought a 2wd drive clean C-10. I put that cab and bed on the 70's frame. During this time the dana 60 got Dedenbear Knuckles Warn drive flanges and i also installed weld-on beadlocks.I also took 15 inches out the frame and cut 9inches off the back The wheel base is now 112in.

this was before the new cab

And this is the most resent pic. I took 26 inches out of the bed to make it fit the the shorter frame .Right now im in the process on doing boat sides, Int. cage, Installing Buckit seats, 4 point harnesses and a 20gal aluminum fuel cell. The doors still open and close and window still rolls up and down

Looking good.

I remember when the first version had a bed, body sure did flex. . .

Do you still run with Mark and Rob? I'm not sure if those were their names. The one's with the yellow K5 and black Ramcharger.

The truck is coming together very well.

When you bring your fenders in, they require extra length. If you don't you're left with a gap, twhich is typically shown at the back at the firewall.

I won't be done with my truck until Jason (willyswanter) says come and get it. :p

I got my rear springs in 2 weeks ago.. I Also inboarded them... I love the flex but hate all the axle wrap.. So im gonna 2 link the rear to control it.. I also took the bed off.. Im gonna be starting my rear cage in a few weeks.. Also the front axle is out. Im reaplacing one pioion bearing and putting in a new 35spline outter... And Im gonna be adding some more tubes up fornt...

Here's some pics...

Those shackles & hangers look nice, you make those?

FaultLine350
01-02-2007, 02:38 PM
Its because of the longer leaf springs. I dont think it has anything to do with inboarding them....

I made the hangers but not the shackles. They are from DIY4X.

Casey

jays68yak
01-02-2007, 02:42 PM
yeah you get some wrap from the 63s alone. A lot of people end up running traction arms. So far I dont think I have had an issue. If I do Ill just 4 link the rear at that point.

CaptainInsano
01-02-2007, 05:27 PM
you run the overloads to keep from over flexing the springs? I bent my springs on my other truck doing that. :S I think I know someone else who will be inboarding their springs soon...but after the FR trip. What trucks do I snag 63"s from? :thumb:

I got the leafs from an 03 Chevy HD for $125 off Craigslist... Im gonna run the overloads on these. I dont want them to over flex at all... Im sure ill take it out sooner or later, but im happy with the flex for now...
