So, I'm impatiently waiting for my bonus to arrive and started thinking about garage accessories.
I'm in the market for a compressor but have no idea what would be a good one for me. HP? Capacity? Brand?
Just want to run a few air tools and maybe a nail gun/brad nailer on occasion.
Not looking to spend my life savings, but would consider anything in the $200 - $500 range. Can I get a decent compressor for that price?

I bought a 5 hp 25 gal portable at Sears for around 300 bucks around ten years ago.
I wanted a compresser I could use on 120 V.
It's been to Pismo & works good with My Rv Generator.
It doesn't keep up with an 80gal shop compresser for running tools but it works.
and it's still running.
see it in the packground.

If I was you I would raise your limit a little and go for this one..I went threw grainger.com ite and I didn't now they cost so much.. Sounds like I got a good deal on mine.. This one would be good for me to paint your truck has well..Better to buy a little bigger then you need then to small..

Sorry homedepot doesn't allow remote links.. Do a search under this model number.. This one is just a little bit bigger then mine. And you now it didn't keep up with your sandblasting.. But it does keep up with air tools. Mine is a 7 hp has well but only a 60 gallon tank. This one is a 80 gallon tank... # Model HS7810

I just bought this one, works great so far. Used the air chisel to take off all my spring hanger rivets Sunday night.
$329 with free air tools.

Dan
the 60 galon you show is overkill for her.
The 5HP 25-27 gallons are fine for most of us here as well as her.
I want to upgrade to the 60 gallon to get cleaner cuts with my plazma and air tools with less wait time.
I bought mine from Walmart with a free air tool kit for $175 but now Home Depot has great prices on the air compressors I would check them out.

why not just get the twin tank jobby over at home depot. it does great for painting and is excelent for places like pismo and hollister.

This is what I have.

I painted my truck with it and I paint all of the gates I build with it. It has never skipped a beat and only runs out of air with the big 3/4" impact that Jason has.
The best thing I like about it is that it's quiet. If your gonna have it inside your garage you want a quiet one. The 2 stage ones are freaking LOUD!!!

Well what did you expect?
Now put a bunch of pictures of beautifull and ugly women and you will have a consensus, but put out all the tools available and there is no 2 men that would agree on what is best.

Good point, but beauty is in the eye of the beer holder
I found a couple at Sears that look pretty good .... 2hp, 33 gal and comes with a set of air tools ($99.99 value) for $330. :)
