View Full Version : Moving axle forward 3 inches...done but have problem

I moved my front axle forward 3 inches to get clearance from the firewall. This all went fine and dandy, moved the hangers forward, welded em on and a few grade 8 bolts on each. Looks killer with the tires moved forward, will wheel a lot nicer...
However my steering geometry is now really screwed up. I have that homemade inverted-t setup and its not inline anymore, but even worse is now my pitman arm is directly over the ubolt plate. What you guys do that have moved the axle forward like this? I was thinking of just getting one of those big bump stops so it can't hit it.

2 inches before collision? Are you running bump stops, I'm not. but I guess I'll have to now, at least on that side.

that costs money, and I'm a cheap ass, actually just prefer to build all my own shit, worked so far. you can check it out at moon rocks this spring :)
I got it worked out today actually, only thing left is to put in a bump stop and it will work fine. Not gonna do the full hydro right now, I'd like to keep the steering while motor off insurance for now.
