ok so i found a 10 bolt housing with everthing to bolt into a 95 chevy truck but it is missing the gears and carrier, will the 10 carrier out of the 10 bolt i'm getting from eric out of his blazer fit the newer housing, please help i really want to get the d 60's for the sammy :banger:

I *think* they are both 8.5 and should interchange. But Im not 100% sure on this. A couple of the front 10 bolts that I parted, I sold the carriers on ebay and a few of them were putting them in rears. Im not sure of the year tho.

if you hav ABS you'll have some problems

I seem to remember the newer 10 bolt is 8.6" not 8.5 like the earlier one.

quick search on summit. These all have 10 bolt ring gears.
* GM 7.25 in., IFS
* GM 7.5 in. S-series
* GM 7.625 in. S-series
* GM 8.2 in. Same as IFS front?
* GM 8.25 in., IFS
* GM 8.5 in.

Looks like you would be dealing with a 8.5 or an 8.6. And according to the site above they use the same part numbers for the ring and pinion gears. :unsure:
