They can be rebuilt, however I have no clue how. Mine in my old 77 chevy longbed got all shitty like that, had it fixed. I dunno what they did but it fixed it. Probably easier just to swap though for us non steering column rebuilder expert folk.

I noticed recently that the steering column in the S10 is becoming loose and wobbly, to the point that it moves when you turn the wheel.
I'm guessing this is a bad thing.
So can these things be rebuilt, or should I just rip it out and find an organ donor?
It is a tilt-wheel column. I feel like I heard that you just R&R the thing as opposed to trying to save it.
I'm a bit worried about my wife driving it like this, since she is not even the slightest bit mechanically inclined.
Where are you located? I have repaired many of the loose steering columns with no problems, usually takes me about 30 minutes to fix and i have ALL the required tools.

I usually charge $75.00 to repair them, but since you're here from the board i'll do it for $50.00. Just bring it down here some evening and i'll fix it while you wait.
Also, if you listen to Mike it will cost you more as i can have an angry appetite sometimes. :pimp2:

Thanks Scott for your time and hard work.
Feels like new, nice and tight.
The best $50 I ever spent.
You better watch how you say things around here. :flipoff2:
I'm glad i could fix your steering column for you, or your wife. Having the correct tools sure makes those jobs easier. :thumb:
